A NEW 2008 ADVENTURE!
Join us for 3 nights camping and 4 days of hiking at beautiful Point Reyes National Seashore. The San Francisco Chronicle called the Coastal Trail at Point Reyes the best trail in the entire Bay Area. This wonderful hike through a pristine coastal park is not to be missed.
Day One: Shuttle to Mount Vision. After we soak in the great views we will have a nice downhill to Coast Camp. The camp is just up off a great beach – 7 miles
Day Two: Coast Camp to Glen Camp. This day takes us along the coastal terrace and past Arch Rock where we will have lunch. Then we have a long uphill inland to Glen Camp in a lovely forest. – 7.3 miles
Day Three: Glen Camp to Wildcat Camp. We’ll have a leisurely morning before heading back down the hill to camp along the coast. We can explore the beach and walk down to Alamere Falls, which fall right on the beach (take a cold shower), or just hang out for the day. - 3.7 miles.
Day Four: Wildcat Camp to Palomarin Trailhead to Bolinas. Soon after departing Wildcat camp we pass a series of small lakes right out of a Japanese ink drawing.
We’ll have time for a swim in Bass Lake. At the Palomarin Trailhead we’ll drop our packs off and drop down to the shoreline for a lovely 3 mile beach walk right into the village of Bolinas where we’ll be treated to a late lunch before shuttling back to our cars. – 8.5 miles
