2012 is the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge! Coastwalk California joins with the Bay Area Ridge Trail, The San Francisco Bay Trail and the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail to celebrate this magnificent structure.

The first night, Saturday June 30th we will camp in the City at the Presidio’s Rob Hill Campground. Reenactors from the Anza trail will join us beside the campfire before we go to sleep in a grove of Eucalyptus trees overlooking Baker Beach and the Pacific Ocean.

The next morning there will be a guided hike over the Golden Gate Bridge. Participants continuing on the adventure will be guided to the ferry for a trip to Angel Island where we will spend two nights at the Stationmaster’s Quarters, a historic Civil War building at the water’s edge. We’ll tour the island’s Immigration Station and hike to the top of Mount Livermore.

This easy to moderate hike will be enjoyable for children and adults who are reasonably fit and enjoy walking up to 5 miles, crossing a great bridge, and some uphill hiking. Maximum enrollment for the whole trip is 24 participants.

You may have a ONE NIGHT ONLY camping experience at Rob Hill Campground on the first night of the trip, June 29th for $50 per participant. You’ll enjoy dinner and the reenactors. (There’s a limit of 60 people for this night only)
