September is usually a beautiful time to explore the amazing open space of coastal Marin County, hiking and camping in the Point Reyes National Seashore, the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and in Mount Tamalpais State Park. The last night is spent in the grand old Alpine Club.
We will walk through forested ravines and rolling grass covered hills with spectacular coastal views, among redwoods and along estuaries, coastal bluffs, and sandy beaches.
If you are interested in geology, you’ll find much of interest in this area. Birds and other wildlife sightings are abundant. Enjoy a week hiking with friends new and old surrounded by a largely unspoiled coastal environment.
This is a strenuous walk designed for fit hikers, since the mileage is 7-10 miles a day with elevation gains and losses, and some short but steep stretches.
Maximum enrollment is 20 participants.
# 12006 Adults $450
