This Coastwalk will feature a two night stay at the Historic Point Arena Lighthouse with visits to Bowling Ball Beach, Manchester Beach, Garcia River Valley and the beautiful Gualala River. We’ll meet you at Manchester KOA at 1 PM, July 20, 2012.

That afternoon we’ll walk about 3 miles of beautiful, expansive sandy shoreline to the northern end of Manchester Beach. July 21th we walk south about 6 miles, crossing the Garcia River and on to Point Arena Lighthouse, our stay for two nights.

On July 22th, Bob Lorentzen, author and intrepid hiker will lead us to his favorite Bowling Ball Beach with its unique geology. On July 23th we’ll walk along the mouth of the Gualala River then south to explore the Sea Ranch Coast.Our stay tonight will be at Gualala County Park under a Redwood Forest canopy.

July 24th you will be returned to your cars after breakfast.

This is a moderate walk with a daily average mileage of 4-7 miles. There is some sand walking, and one 10 foot ladder climb. Maximum enrollment is 22 participants.
