Coastwalk California and Outdoor Afro are partnering for a special, private outdoor adventure on October 5-6, 2024, at the Monterey Veterans Memorial Campground. This event offers Outdoor Afro members a chance to experience camping, hiking and the beauty of the outdoors. Members get to pick from two unique experiences for the event:
Option 1: Arrive on October 5 and immerse yourself in essential camping skills, including camp setup and campfire cooking. The evening will end with a cozy campfire gathering and a chance to stargaze. On the morning of October 6, participants will enjoy breakfast before embarking on a scenic day hike. Attendees should bring their own camping gear, including sleeping bags, tents, and other essentials, with a full packing list provided closer to the event.
Option 2: Join the group on the morning of October 6 for a guided day hike. Along the hike, participants will hear from an expert about the local environment, with a lunch break included to enjoy the natural surroundings.
This event provides an excellent opportunity to learn outdoor skills, connect with nature, and engage with fellow outdoor enthusiasts. Spaces are limited to Outdoor Afro members only.
