2025 Walks
Notice
In response to the changing needs of our members and to help make the California Coastal Trail more accessible to a wider audience, we are focusing on creating the CCT guidebooks rather than sponsoring the traditional walks program in 2025. These guidebooks will offer Walk Leaders more opportunities in the future to coordinate with interested hikers and campers.
Additionally, we are exploring the capability to post unaffiliated meetups on our site, allowing interested people to join hikes with Walk Leaders. While this is a future project and not yet available, we are excited about the potential it holds for fostering connections and engagement. This shift allows for a more customizable and personalized experience, and we’re excited for the flexibility it will bring. This change is part of our efforts to ensure the viability of Coastwalk and sustain interest in the CCT.

Hike Ratings
What do we mean by easy, moderate and strenuous?
Easy : Children ages 5-17 welcome with accompanying Adult, Guardian or Parent. Mostly level walks of 3-7 miles per day.
Moderate : Daily hiking averages 5-9 miles. Expect some elevation and/or sand walking. Children welcome with hike leader approval.
Strenuous : Significant Elevation gains and losses with mileage of 6-15 miles daily. Hike leader approval needed to register for most walks in this category.
