I was born and raised in Southern California and spent lots of time at the coast. Whenn I was stationed at an Air Force Base in Northern California, I fell in love with the North Coast. I then moved to the northern central valley in 1978. I “discovered” Coastwalk in 2002 and loved their walks and their mission to create a coastal trail and started volunteering in everything- from onsite walk leader, coastal cleanups, marking trails to organizing walks. I have done 21 “Coastwalk Adventures” from Catalina to Del Norte and even though, I’d like to think I know all about the north coast, I still get excited when I discover a new spot on the coast that I didn’t know existed. That’s what I love about Coastwalk- they give people the opportunity to explore sections of the coast in the best way possible to see the beauty our coast has to offer.
