In the style of a Coastwalk Classic we will haul your gear while you enjoy sweeping vistas of the Marin Headlands and Point Reyes National Seashore. Special screening of critically acclaimed film, REBELS WITH A CAUSE, a fascinating example of a hard fought campaign to preserve something important to all of us — our public land. And it is a powerful tool to illustrate that the personal is political, and the local is global.
Highlights:
Point Reyes National Seashore, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and Mount Tamalpais State Park: hiking along Drake’s Estero and Sculptured Beach, visiting Arch Rock, a swim in Bass Lake, strolling through majestic Muir Woods, and hiking down luxuriously forested Steep Ravine to Stinson Beach.
Trip Includes:
camping, lodging & parking fees; guided hiking; dinners, hot water/coffee & light breakfast fixings; gear haul; shuttle transportation
Make Sure to Bring:
Suggested packing list will be provided to hikers before the trip, along with more details about trip logistics.
Average Daily Hiking:
6 to 10 miles per day; total hiking of 45 miles
Types of Hiking Surfaces:
Dirt or gravel trails, soft sandy beaches, some rocks and irregular terrain
Elevation Gains & Losses:
Hikes are all at or near sea level, with daily elevation gains of 1000 ft or less.
Fitness Requirements:
Must be able to hike up to 10 miles per day over 6 consecutive days.

This trip is organized and led by Coastwalk Staff; Hannah Faire Scott and Alina Huff, with over 8 years combined experience leading and organizing outdoor adventures. Paul McKown, Jerry Freedman, and Eric Stoelting will be our guides and hike leaders. These guys have hiked and explored the trails of west Marin for many years, and have led numerous Sierra Club trips as well as Coastwalk trips.
