The popular San Luis Obispo Coastwalk is back and better than ever! Following the 2013 successful hike through miles of newly discovered trails, we have fined tuned the trek to include some new walks. During the 5 nights and 6 days of this trip we will walk from Peidras Blancas near the entrance to Big Sur through the newly opened trails inside the Diablo Canyon nuclear reservation. Highlights will include 18 miles of newly acquired California Coastal Trail through the Hearst Ranch, the Piedra Blanca lighthouse, the elephant seal breeding grounds, San Simeon State Park, charming Cambria, Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, Harmony Headlands State Park, Estero Bluffs State Park, Morro Rock, spectacular pocket beaches of Montana de Oro State Park and the Point Buchon Trail to Diablo Canyon. Our camp grounds will be chosen maximize our group’s privacy and minimize the number of camp set ups. Enjoy the rugged bluffs, natural beauty, fascinating geology, and Chumash history of this coastline beneath the shadow of Hearst Castle.
